⚠️ Warning: Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone after the grace period.

🛡️ 7-Day Grace Period

When you request deletion, your account enters a 7-day waiting period. During this time, you can cancel the deletion and restore your account. After 7 days, your account will be permanently deleted.

We're sorry to see you go. If you'd like to delete your mazado account and all associated data, please follow the instructions below.

Option 1: Delete from the App (Recommended)

The fastest way to delete your account is directly from the mazado app:

Open the mazado app
Tap your avatar in the top-right corner
Go to Settings
Tap "Delete Account"
Type DELETE to confirm
Tap "Delete My Account"

Your account will be scheduled for deletion in 7 days. You can cancel anytime before then by returning to the Delete Account screen.

Option 2: Request Deletion via Email

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot access your account, you can request account deletion by email:

Send an email to:

support@mazado.ae

Include in your email:

Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
The email address associated with your mazado account
Your full name (as registered in the app)
Reason for deletion (optional)

We will initiate the deletion process within 7 business days. Your account will enter a 7-day grace period, after which it will be permanently deleted. You will receive a confirmation email with your scheduled deletion date.

Option 3: Submit Deletion Request via Web Form

Fill out the form below to request account deletion. We will process your request within 7 business days and send you a confirmation email.

Canceling Your Deletion Request

Changed your mind? You can cancel your deletion request anytime within the 7-day grace period:

In the app: Go to Settings → Delete Account and tap "Cancel Account Deletion"
Via email: Send an email to support@mazado.ae with subject "Cancel Account Deletion"

After the 7-day grace period expires, deletion cannot be cancelled or reversed.

What Happens During the Grace Period?

While your account is pending deletion:

Your listings will be hidden from the marketplace
You can still log in and browse
You can cancel deletion at any time
A banner will remind you of the scheduled deletion date

What Data Will Be Deleted (After 7 Days)?

When the grace period ends, the following data will be permanently removed:

Your profile information (name, bio, phone number, email)
Your profile photo and all listing images
All your listings (active, sold, and unlisted)
Your messages and conversation history
Your notifications
Your authentication credentials

What Data We Retain (Anonymized)

For UAE VAT compliance (5-year requirement) and environmental tracking, we retain the following anonymized data:

Transaction records — Your identity is removed, but transaction details are kept for tax compliance
CO₂ savings — Your contributions to environmental impact remain in platform statistics
Abuse reports — If your account was reported for violations, those reports are retained for fraud prevention

This anonymized data cannot be traced back to you and is retained solely for legal compliance and platform integrity.
